Description: Cathy Weitzel uses decades of experience to help you sort through and make sense of the barrage of new research and warnings about various medications.

Full Description:
Theoretically, medications get better over time to target symptoms while minimizing side effects. The reality is that practitioners MUST remain cognizant of medications’ side effects and dangerous adverse reactions. This becomes especially important when polypharmacy seems to be the norm.

This webinar will address some of the medications that have recently been the target of class-action lawsuits around the country. You will receive vital and current information to assist you in exceeding best practice guidelines. With attention devoted to timely issues such as the FDA Black Box Warning regarding suicidal thinking, as well as the Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone (SIADH), this webinar is essential for anyone working with clients who take medications.

Course Includes:
Live Q&A
Presentation Handout
Post session recording access
CE Credit

What You Will Learn:
Describe multiple categories of Extrapyramidal Side Effects (EPSE) and specific medications implicated
Differentiate between Serotonin Syndrome and Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome
