Description: Learn from a noted expert how to write ethical progress notes, what information to divulge to whom, and how to safeguard both written and electronic data.

Full Description:
Many mental health professionals have more anxiety about “legal ramifications” of their actions than “ethical practice.” The fact remains that knowledge of ethical standards and ethical decision making processes can enhance client care and decrease the “legal” anxiety.

This webinar will address the ethical codes and standards from the perspective of purpose and application. Participants will review the reasons for incorporating ethics into behavioral health practice, and how ethics influences the decision making process. The webinar will also provide an opportunity to analyze the issues related to clinical application of ethics in treatment planning, documentation, and confidentiality. Participants will take away practical information on ethical progress notes, disclosures, and data safety.
