Description: Embark on a “worthy” endeavor with your clients by addressing self-esteem issues and implementing Competence and Worthiness Training.

Full Description:
Research consistently identifies two basic functions of self-esteem: self-protection and self-expansion. By addressing these in counseling sessions, clinicians can help clients recover from stressors while also growing in new ways.

In this webinar, participants take a fresh look at the concept of self-esteem, visualizing it as a combination of competence and worthiness. Dr. Mruk delineates the different types of self-esteem that can be generated (low, defensive, and authentic) and makes an important connection between authentic or healthy self-esteem and positive psychology. Finally, participants receive guidance on how to implement Competence and Worthiness Training (CWT), an empirically supported positive therapy, into their practices.
